"Junk food you've craved for an hour, or the body you've craved for a lifetime? Your decision."
Does anyone else have this problem? I workout hard and try to replenish my body with protein, good carbs and fat, and of course water. I do a great job for a couple days and then it's like my brain is craving "junk". The longest streak I have had with completely clean eating was about 5-6 weeks when I was in a competition where I exercise. The results were awesome!
Right now, it feels like I am canceling all the gains I should be getting! I need to turn this around! The hardest part for me is that I don't really have a support system at home that is on board. It makes it too easy to say "oh, one won't hurt" and then do the same thing again day after day.
I look to friends at the gym and Facebook and pinterest health enthusiasts for support. Too bad I can't take these people with me 24/7! I prevailed a couple times before, I can do it again!!!

Why Fifth and Fit?
"It's not about being the best, it's about being better than you were yesterday."
As some-what of a perfectionist, as most teachers I know are, I need to remind myself that you can't and won't be perfect. You won't have to be! It's about striving to do better each and every day.
I'm a fifth grade teacher with a strong interest in health. I push myself to try new things at school and in the "gym". One can and should always strive to improve.
My purpose of this blog (I think) is to find balance, support, and encourage myself and others. Even if no one ever reads this, I'm going to force myself to publish my progress, struggles, and success in hopes of holding myself more accountable.
Here are a few of my interests that I will most likely be writing about:
Education: Whole Brain Teaching, ESL, Guided Math, improving writing instruction....the lists goes on and on and on and on (Do you know the song that just came into my head?)
Health: I'm not sure. I stay pretty motivated with an exercise routine but of course, it is the nutrition that is most difficult.
Until next time, stay motivated!
